Meet Echo & SV Mulan

I

I did not grow up sailing. I started learning in my 40s.
I was seasick. Small waves made me nervous. I learned step by step, not knowing where it would eventually lead.
In 2022, I sailed my own yacht along Australia's east coast.
In 2025, I took Mulan north from France to Svalbard, reaching 79°N with a crew of four women.

In 2026, the two of us crossed the North Atlantic and sailed into East Greenland. We navigated icebergs, reached Sermilik Fjord, and went ashore near a glacier.
I had not planned any of it. I simply kept taking the next step.
SV Mulan is a Garcia Exploration 45, a 14.88-metre aluminium expedition yacht built for exactly this kind of sailing: high latitudes, remote waters, long distances. She was launched in 2025 and has already covered more ground than most boats see in a decade.
This site is the record of the expedition. Voyage logs, photography, route planning, and honest accounts of what sailing in extreme environments actually involves. Not the highlight reel. Both sides of it.
In 2027, the plan is the Northwest Passage.

The route is not fixed. Weather, sea ice and conditions will decide. But the direction is west.
Follow the journey.
