THE EXPEDITION
One woman. One boat. Five years. The high latitudes.
A five-year sailing journey aboard SV Mulan, from Europe to the Arctic, across the North Atlantic and onward toward the Pacific and southern waters.
Two seasons completed. The next chapter: a planned Northwest Passage expedition in 2027.
2025 — NORTH TO SVALBARD
COMPLETED ✓
France → UK → Scotland → Norway → Svalbard
Mulan’s first expedition season took us from Cherbourg through the UK and Scotland, across the North Sea to Norway, and north to Svalbard.
We reached Ny-Ålesund at approximately 79°N. Four women sailed together during the High Arctic stage.

2026 — ACROSS THE NORTH ATLANTIC TO GREENLAND
COMPLETED ✓
UK → Scotland → Faroe Islands → Iceland → East Greenland
With an all-female crew of two, Mulan crossed the North Atlantic to East Greenland.
From Tasiilaq, we explored Sermilik Fjord and Johan Petersen Fjord, navigated among icebergs and went ashore to explore a glacier.

2027 — THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE
IN PREPARATION · PLANNED APRIL–SEPTEMBER
France → UK → Scotland → Faroe Islands → Iceland → East Greenland → South Greenland → Nuuk → Canadian Arctic → Northwest Passage → Alaska
The next season will take Mulan back to Greenland, then west toward the Canadian Arctic. Our objective is to navigate the Northwest Passage and reach Alaska, subject to sea ice, weather and the condition of the boat and crew.
