A Five-Year Polar Sailing Odyssey

Some journeys start with a drawn map, others with an unspoken question lingering deep within.
For Echo, this voyage took root in quiet moments—amid mundane routines, endless responsibilities, the grief of losing her father, and a sudden awakening that life was slipping away before she truly lived it.
She had no seafaring roots, nor was she born to embrace the ocean. She set sail only after turning forty.
While most peers sought steady peace in middle age, Echo chose to chase her true bearings.

What began as mere curiosity soon turned into unwavering resolve.Casual weekend sailing lessons evolved into years of open-ocean voyages: braving raging storms, enduring relentless seasickness, mastering navigation, standing lonely night watches, weathering setbacks, mending broken gear, conquering inner fears, and forging unshakable perseverance—until she found complete inner transformation.
It is no grand, ostentatious change, but a gentle yet profound shift, one that reshapes how one stands firmly in their own life.
SV Mulan
Standing at the heart of this new chapter is Mulan—a French-built Garcia Exploration 45, engineered for high-latitude expeditions and long-distance ocean crossings.

Crafted by Garcia Yachts, she was never made for leisurely marina gatherings or superficial luxury.
She was built to withstand harsh weather, conquer endless nautical miles, endure solitary isolation, cut through icy waters, and brave unyielding oceans that show no mercy.
Her sturdy aluminum hull bears all hardships, holding immense strength to navigate ruthless waters where rescue lies far out of reach.
Echo chose Mulan not merely for her elegant silhouette, though she is undeniably graceful, but for her sheer sincerity, unmatched fortitude, reliable capability, and unyielding spirit.
This vessel is never meant to flee from the world, but to face it wholeheartedly.
The Mulan Expedition | 2025–2030
Starting in 2025, Echo and her crew embark on a five-year polar and open-sea sailing expedition aboard Mulan.

This is no round-the-world race, nor a lavish pleasure cruise. It is a slow, mindful journey toward an entirely new way of life.
Following the rhythm of seasons, weather patterns and ocean tides, they traverse some of Earth’s most remote and untamed waters:France, Ireland, Scotland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Arctic Norway, Svalbard, Patagonia, the Southern Ocean and secluded Pacific isles.
Some stretches are breathtakingly beautiful, others overwhelmingly daunting, and most filled with unknown uncertainties.
Yet this is exactly what makes the journey meaningful.
Beyond Sailing

This expedition is far more than crossing vast oceans—it is breaking through the invisible boundaries we set for ourselves.
Out at sea, all pretense fades away.No one can bargain with violent weather, outrun inner fears, or skip vital preparations.
The ocean strips life down to its purest essence:wind and tide, clear direction, physical exhaustion, strict self-discipline, boundless accountability, and heartfelt mutual trust.
For Echo, sailing is never just a craft to master, but a lifelong practice to rebuild her life from within.
The True Meaning of This Voyage

In an era obsessed with rapid success, definite outcomes and dazzling achievements, this journey chooses a different path:embracing slow pace, pursuing inner depth, staying fully present, and holding quiet courage without seeking applause.
Echo’s story is never about achieving instant greatness. It speaks of a far tougher truth:
To stay true to yourself, and dare to restart life even in middle age, with no definite promises, and even when no one cheers for you.
A Floating Home on the Edge of the World

Mulan is more than a sailing boat. She is a warm drifting home, a living classroom, a trial of perseverance, and a bridge connecting fear and freedom.
Beneath the icy Arctic sky and fierce southern tempests, beyond every distant horizon, Echo still holds fast to the original question that led her to set sail:
If life is fleeting and limited, how bravely and sincerely will we choose to live it?
